An epic Classic/Mid-range Family Safari Holiday in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania
This safari features a selection of three popular Northern Circuit game parks and reserve. The package includes Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. These wilderness areas are characterised by different inhabitant animal behaviours; however, you may see some exceptional attractions that will be sighted on the very specific park and never in another. As Manyara is well known for the tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake and its flamingos, Tarangire is widely famous for its high-density population of Elephants and Baobab Trees. Both Parks are a home to more than Hundreds of bird species and a haven for bird enthusiasts in East Africa. Termite Mounds dot the topography in Tarangire National Park, while Manyara is famous for its locality below the East African Rift Valley. Did you know that Lake Manyara National Park is the only park having a Hot spring popping up from under Neath?
In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel to start your safari to Lake Manyara National Park. Established in 1960, the small Lake Manyara National Park is a home to tree climbing lions, elephants and large troops of baboons and monkeys. The park is dominated by the shallow, alkaline lake and boasts with diverse habitats like grassy plains, escarpment and forest. Here hundreds of bird species gather most notable, thousands of pink flamingos. In addition to the striking scenery you have a chance to see giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, wildebeests and the comical warthogs. The safari vehicle has an open roof and is the ideal viewing platform to appreciate the nature and animals of this park. In the afternoon, you will have your picnic lunch before you leave the park and travel to the lodge, where you will spend the night.
Take an early drive towards the fertile crater highlands immediately after your breakfast and get mesmerized with the beauty of the crop fields that grow wheat, corn and coffee. At mid-day, you will reach the plains of the Serengeti, the one of the largest National parks in Tanzania. Serengeti has a diversity of landscapes including short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes and it is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds to thousands of wildebeest and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. On your way to your accommodation you will understand, where the word Serengeti (plains in the language of the Maasai) comes from. In the early evening, you will reach the lodge, where you will spend the night.
The whole day will be spent on a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south while during the longer rainy season from April to June they return back up north. This circle of life is determined by the rainfalls and locations of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. A visit to the Serengeti Visitor Centre is also possible. Here you can learn more about the history of the park and the research that is done by the Frankfurter Zoological Society. You will spend another night at the lodge in the park.
After breakfast, you will continue your safari in Serengeti. In the Seronera Valley you might be lucky to see predators hunt as animals gather at the waters during the dry season. After lunch at a picnic spot you will slowly drive in the direction of Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you reach the crater you will have a superb view of the caldera. This approximate 20km wide crater is part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to over 20,000 animals. You will stay at the lodge possibly (depends on availability) on the crater rim from where you will be able to enjoy an incredible sunset.
Rise and shine! Take our breakfast and drive down in the steep path of world’s greatest caldera” Ngorongoro Crater” the largest, unbroken and unfolded caldera in the world. The crater is not only scenically beautiful, rather it houses an unbelievable diversity of wildlife. The rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also a home to other animals that include hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. From the moment we landed to the last day of our adventure, everything was organized with great care, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.Chrispin was not only extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, parks, and local culture, but he also had a deep passion for nature that made every game drive exciting and educational. His ability to spot animals from a distance was unbelievable — thanks to him, we saw the Big Five and so much more! From the moment we met Chris, we knew we were in great hands. He knew exactly where to go and when, ensuring we never missed a moment. The lodges and tented camp Chris selected for us were absolutely perfect. Chris tailored our itinerary to our preferences, always providing flexible options. One day, we wanted to return to the lodge early to relax by the pool, and Chris made it happen seamlessly.Spending seven days together in a vehicle could have been challenging, but Chris's warm personality and accommodating nature made it a pleasure. From first contact Chrispin was amazing. He picked us up at the airport, assisted with lost luggage, selected camps that were perfect for our family and had the best views. He is incredibly knowledgeable and answered our numerous questions. His experience aided in the fact that we saw the BIG 5 plus more. Would highly recommend!!Posted on Yuan GVerified Great time on a one day safari Animalia Treks was very kind to take just myself on a safari through Arusha National Park. Chrispin, my driver and guide, went the extra mile in almost every way: picking me up from the hotel, teaching me about the animals we saw (giraffe, warthog, flamingo, e.g.), and even letting me shop around Moshi a little. He’s a nice, seasoned safari guide and I would recommend his company to anyone looking to safari in Tanzania.Posted on NorthStar40213759830Verified Yes, YES and Y E S!!! Booking a safari is somewhat of a daunting task as you are putting a lot of faith and trust in the company or person you book with. There are numerous details that require attention and you are trusting that they will be arranged to your satisfaction. Since this type of travel makes me a bit nervous, I am certainly happy we had Chris as our guide. There are other companies that will book your trip but then contract another company to guide the trip, leaving you to wonder who you will actually be with on your safari. This is not the case with Animalia, Chris owns and operates Animalia and he handles all the arrangements as well as being your guide for the entire trip. Chris did a fantastic job with all the details and I was grateful for his advice on locations to visit, it quickly became clear he is a very experienced guide. We booked a 6 day trip that included Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and cultural visits with the Masai, Hedzabe, and Datoga tribes. We flew into Kilimanjaro Airport and Chris promptly picked us up. He thoroughly explained all the details to us and briefed the next day’s events every evening. Highlights for us were the Serengeti and the Acacia Central Camp, really enjoyed the experience. Rest assured whatever locations you choose, you are in good hands with Chris and Animalia!Posted on RealdayVerified Incredible Experience!!! My family booked a safari with Animala Treks and Safari company and it was fantastic! Our guide, Chris was very informative, patient and kind. We visited Tarangire and Serengeti national parks, the Ngorongoro Crater, and also had a local cultural experience with some tribes. From the hotels, the food, and the itinerary, everything was absolutely perfect! My favorite was the lodging in the middle of the Serengeti National Park. While we were safely in our camp at night we could hear the wildebeests and lions. It was so cool! Chris goes the extra mile to ensure guests are happy and having the best experience. Don’t look anywhere else if you want to make sure you have the best safari in Tanzania!!Posted on Ginny VVerified BEST SAFARI GUIDE IN TANZANIA!!! BEST SAFARI GUIDE IN TANZANIA!!!! After months of research, my family decided to book a 6-day safari and cultural experience with Chris and it was the absolute best decision we made! This was a once in a lifetime trip and Chris contributed to the unforgettable experience. Communication from the very beginning starting with the planning stage was always clear, honest, and upfront. Chris always responded in a timely manner. From the time he picked us up at the airport to the last day when he dropped us off, he took great care of us. I was so impressed how organized the trip was. Chris took extra time preparing before we arrived in Tanzania to make sure everything went smoothly during our Safari. During the game drives, Chris made sure we had the opportunity to see so many animals. He got us up close and personal, (safely inside the vehicle) to so many! From a pride of lions to a leopard in the tree with its prey (plus many more types of animals), it was all amazing! Chris is extremely knowledgeable in the animal wildlife and geographical landscape of Tanzania. I don’t think there was a question he didn’t know the answer to. We also had the opportunity to visit 3 different tribes during our trip which I highly recommend. A couple in which many tour guides do not offer as an option to tourists, but Chris does! Don’t hesitate in booking a trek or safari with Animalia, I promise you will not regret it!!!Posted on Bree Anna PVerified Worth every penny. Best safari, Trek and tour guide ever. What can I say....
